This department offers 4 - year B.E. degree course in Instrumentation and Control Engineering since 1995. The department has excellent infrastructure with sophisticated equipment procured from companies of repute around the world. Qualified and experienced faculty members of the department are an asset to the department.

This department is interdisciplinary, aiming to impart quality education to students and preparing the prospective engineers to shoulder key positions in vital industries and departments of national and international importance. Further, it endeavours to promote interaction with the industry and to take up R&D activities for the betterment of society.

In order to inculcate organisational skills, leadership qualities, professionalism and ethics in the students, various cocurricular activities, seminars, special lectures and group discussions are organised on a regular basis. As part of industrial and practical exposure, visits to various process control industries are arranged. Industrial training is imparted to the students during summer and winter vacations.

The curriculum of Instrumentation and Control Engineering encompasses Process Dynamics and Control, Computer Control of Processes, PLC, DCS, Microprocessor and Microcontroller-based Systems, Biomedical, Electronic, Neural Network and Fuzzy Logic Systems. Special emphasis is on application of computer in designing Intelligent Instrumentation and Control.
