M.Sc., Ph.D., M.B.A.
Professor & Head

The department of Polymer Technology was established in 1996 with an aim to provide technical services and manpower for various polymer industries. A four year under graduate program, B.Tech in polymer technology, first of its kind in Tamil Nadu, was stated with an intake of 30 students. The department has adequate infrastructure and well-equipped laboratories. It is empowered with a team of highly qualified faculty members. Accredited and obtained ‘A’ Grade for 5 years from August 2002 & re audited in January 2008 and accredited for 5 years again with effect from 19.7.08

The B.Tech. programme in Polymer Technology follows the semester pattern with 8 semesters, the first semester being common to all branches. This programme covers the entire area of Polymer Technology from the synthesis, characterization and testing to design and processing of polymer products, including design and fabrication of moulds and product design using advanced software such as MOLDFLOW , Pro E and AUTOCAD.
